Key Takeaways

A landing page headline generator writes the main hero line and the supporting subheadline for a page that receives ad or search traffic. The best headlines repeat the words of the ad or keyword the visitor clicked, state the outcome plainly and only use facts you can back up. This tool scores that overlap, called message match, for every headline.

  • Message match means the landing page headline repeats the meaningful words of the ad or keyword that brought the visitor.
  • This tool scores message match as the share of meaningful ad words a headline reuses: 3 of 3 is 100%, 2 of 3 is 67% and 1 of 3 is 33%.
  • Google defines landing page experience as an estimate of how relevant and useful your landing page will be to people who click your ad.
  • Landing page experience is one of three Quality Score components, alongside expected clickthrough rate and ad relevance, and Quality Score runs from 1 to 10.
  • Six headline frameworks cover most paid traffic pages: outcome, X without Y, direct, question, message match and specific.

How to Use the Landing Page Headline Generator

  1. Describe the page

Enter the product or service, the audience, the main outcome they want (start it with a verb) and the facts you can prove, one per line.

  2. Add the ad or keyword

Type the ad headline or the keyword that sends traffic to the page. The AI uses it for message-matched headlines, and the checker scores every headline against it.

  3. Generate and compare

Press Generate for 12 headlines in six frameworks and 6 subheadlines. Sort by best match to see which headlines repeat the ad's words and which words are missing.

  4. Preview and export

Click a headline and a subheadline to see them in the hero preview on desktop or mobile, edit them in place, then copy them or download a CSV with scores.

What makes a good landing page headline?

For a page that receives paid traffic, a good headline does three things in one line: it confirms the visitor is in the right place, it states the outcome they came for, and it gives a reason to keep reading. The first job matters most. Someone who clicked an ad for an emergency plumber in Brooklyn wants the page to say emergency plumber and Brooklyn before anything else.

Google's own definition points the same way. It describes landing page experience as a measure of how relevant and useful your landing page will be to people who click your ad, and says pages with higher ratings are usually well organized and have text that relates to a person's search terms. Keep the headline about the customer's result, not your company. Put proof such as licenses, guarantees or numbers in the subheadline or right under the button, where it supports the promise instead of crowding it.

Which headline frameworks work for landing pages?

The generator writes two headlines in each of six frameworks, then labels them so you can compare like with like:

FrameworkPatternExampleUse it when
OutcomeThe result they getGet a burst pipe fixed todayThe result is the main reason people buy
X without YOutcome without the painFix the leak without surprise costsBuyers fear cost, effort or risk
DirectWhat it is, who it is forEmergency plumbing for Brooklyn homeownersThe offer is simple and well known
QuestionThe question they already askNeed a plumber tonight?Urgent or uncertain searches
Message matchThe ad or keyword, word for wordEmergency Plumber in BrooklynPaid search pages with one main keyword
SpecificA number or concrete fact24/7 call-outs with upfront pricingYou have a fact competitors do not

Only use a number you can prove. If you do not have one, the specific framework falls back to a concrete detail rather than an invented statistic.

What is message match and how is it scored?

Message match is how closely the landing page repeats the ad or keyword that brought the visitor. This tool turns it into a number you can compare:

  1. Take the ad headline or keyword and drop common words such as in, for, the, best and near.
  2. Reduce each remaining word to its root, so plumber, plumbers and plumbing all count as plumb, and price and pricing count as the same word.
  3. Score = matched words divided by the meaningful words in the ad.

A worked example with the ad Emergency Plumber in Brooklyn. The meaningful words are emergency, plumber and Brooklyn, so there are 3.

  • 24/7 Emergency Plumbing Repairs in Brooklyn: reuses all 3. 3 / 3 = 100%, a strong match.
  • Brooklyn Plumbing Repairs: reuses plumber and Brooklyn. 2 / 3 = 67%, still strong, but the page never says emergency.
  • Fast Help for Burst Pipes: reuses none. 0 / 3 = 0%, a weak match even though the meaning is close.

The tool marks 67% and above as strong, 34% to 66% as partial and below that as weak, and lists the missing words for each headline. The fix for a weak match is usually to add the one or two missing words, not to rewrite the idea.

How do landing page headlines affect Google Ads Quality Score?

Quality Score is a 1 to 10 diagnostic, reported per keyword, built from three components: expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. Each component is rated Above average, Average or Below average. Ad relevance is how closely your ad matches the intent behind a search, and landing page experience covers the page the ad sends people to. Source: About Quality Score for Search campaigns.

Google does not publish a formula that ties a headline to a score, so no tool can promise a Quality Score gain. What Google does say is that it looks for a clear, useful page whose text relates to the keyword and what people searched for. A message-matched headline is the most visible place to show that relation. If a keyword shows Below average for landing page experience, start by checking whether the page headline uses the keyword's words at all. Our guide to a good landing page experience in Google Ads covers the rest of the page.

Headline or subheadline: what goes where?

The headline makes the promise; the subheadline explains how it is kept. A practical split:

  • Headline (up to about 70 characters): the outcome and the ad's words. One idea.
  • Subheadline (up to about 160 characters): how it works, what happens after the click and one or two proof points.
  • Under the button: short trust facts such as licensed and insured or upfront pricing.

These lengths are writing guidelines, not platform limits: Google and browsers do not cap on-page headlines. They keep the hero readable on a phone, which the mobile preview in the tool lets you check. Frequently Asked Questions

Is this landing page headline generator free?

Yes. It is free with no signup. When the AI service is busy, it falls back to templates built only from the facts you entered, so you always get headlines and subheadlines to work with.

How long should a landing page headline be?

There is no platform limit, but this tool keeps headlines to 70 characters and shows the word count, so the hero line reads in one pass on a phone. Put detail in the subheadline.

What is message match on a landing page?

It is the overlap between the ad or keyword someone clicked and the words on the page they land on. A headline that repeats the ad’s key words confirms they are in the right place.

Should every landing page headline repeat the keyword?

For paid search pages built around one keyword, yes, at least in the main headline or the line right below it. For pages that serve many keywords, match the shared theme and test separate pages for the biggest keywords.

Can I use the generator for Facebook ad landing pages?

Yes. Paste the Facebook ad headline instead of a keyword. The match score works the same way for any ad text.

Does a better headline raise Quality Score?

Google does not publish a direct link, so no one can promise it. Google does say landing page experience reflects how relevant and useful the page is to people who click, and the headline is the first text they read.

Will the AI invent numbers for the specific framework?

It is told not to. It only uses numbers from the facts you enter, and falls back to a concrete detail when there are none. Check every line before it goes live.
