Matching the search to the job

A burst pipe and a repipe are not the same lead

A search for “emergency plumber near me” late at night means water on the floor. “Drain cleaning” is quick, same day work. “Water heater replacement” and “whole house repipe” are big jobs that people price out first. Each gets its own campaign and budget, so cheap, fast calls do not eat the money meant for big tickets.

Your service area should follow drive time, not a circle on a map. A circle can cross a river or a jammed highway your trucks avoid. We trim it to the places you can reach quickly, and show ads only to people who are really there.

Clicks that never turn into jobs

DIY fixers, job seekers, and parts buyers

Plumbing has a huge “how to” crowd. Searches like “how to unclog a toilet” or “how to fix a leaky faucet” bring clicks from people who will grab a plunger, not call you. Job seekers type “plumber jobs” or “plumbing apprenticeship.” Others want a supply house or a pex fitting. We block all of these, and the list keeps growing.

Night ads are the other leak. If no one picks up after hours, you paid for those clicks for nothing. We only run ads in the hours a person or an answering service is on the line.

Answered calls and booked work

We grade every call, then follow it to the job

Most plumbing leads are phone calls, so call-only ads and call assets do a lot of the work. We track each call from an ad and grade it. Was it answered? Was it long enough to be a real job? Was it a burst pipe or a slow drain?

Missed calls go in your report too. If calls ring out at lunch or on Sunday, you will see it. Then booked jobs and their value flow into Google Ads. That teaches bidding to chase paying work, not just more rings.

Nights, weekends, and who picks up

Ad hours that match the person on the phone

Pipes burst at night and on holidays. That work pays well, but only if someone answers. Before we turn on late hours, we ask who takes those calls: you, a tech on call, or an answering service. If the answer is nobody, the ads stay off until it is somebody.

Once the phones are covered, nights and weekends get separate bids, plus call-only ads that ring straight through. Daytime hours lean toward drains, water heaters, and repipes, the jobs people plan ahead.

Call your own number tonight and count the rings

If no one picks up, more ads will not help yet. Tell us your hours and who covers the phone, and we will set ads to run only when a person can answer.

What we do differently for plumbers

Most plumber marketing stops at the click. Ours follows the call to the job.

We test your phones before we touch bids

We call your number at busy times and after hours. If calls ring out, more ads will only buy more missed calls. So we fix the ad hours first, and only then do we spend more.

standout icon 2

You see every search you paid for

Each week we send you the searches that cost money, the ones that brought calls, and the ones we blocked. You can see where your budget went, in plain words, without digging through the account.

standout icon 3

We sort calls by job, not just count them

A dripping faucet and a flooded basement are not worth the same. So we tag each call by job type. Then you can see what a water heater lead costs next to a drain lead.

What plumbers ask us before they sign up

Why are plumbing clicks so expensive?

Because many plumbers bid on the same urgent searches. In WordStream’s 2026 data, the closest published category paid a median of $8.33 per click, compared with $4.35 for auto repair. You cannot change the price much, so the fix is to waste fewer clicks: tight hours, a tight map, and a long negative keyword list.

Should my ads run at night and on weekends?

Only if someone will answer. Night calls often pay well, but an unanswered emergency call just goes to the next plumber. Set up an answering service or an on-call tech first. Then we turn on those hours and give them their own bids.

Do I still need Search ads if I run Local Services Ads?

Most plumbers do well with both. Local Services Ads charge per lead and sit at the top of the page, so they often make sense next to Search. Search lets you choose each job type, write your own ads, and send people to your own page. We run the Search side. See how the two compare.

Do you have published results from plumbing companies?

Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our closest case is a US law firm. We tracked and graded its calls, added call assets and 500+ negative keywords, and showed ads only to people in its service area. Cost per lead fell from $124 to $44.51. It is a different field, but it is the same call setup we would build for you. Read the law firm story.

What do you need from me to get started?

Four things: your service area, the jobs you want more of, what each job is worth to you, and who answers the phone at each hour. Access to your job software helps too. It lets us see which calls turned into paid work, so bidding can learn from them.
